The final stage of Saudi Arabia’s Elite Belt boxing contest concluded on Friday evening in Riyadh, with champions crowned across 20 weight categories following a nationwide competition that drew hundreds of participants.
The event took place at the Mike Tyson Club in Boulevard City, where a large crowd gathered to witness the culmination of the tournament. The competition featured both men and women, highlighting the growing reach of boxing across the Kingdom.
Winners secured gold belts after progressing through multiple rounds that began with more than 429 boxers competing in the early stages. The final bouts showcased top contenders from clubs across the country, with athletes competing for titles in a range of weight divisions.
Alongside individual achievements, the championship also recognised top-performing clubs based on overall results. Al-Shabab Club finished in first place, followed by Mike Tyson Club in second and Al-Ittihad Club in third. The standings reflected consistent performances across multiple categories throughout the tournament.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony in which winners were presented with belts and medals, marking the end of a competition that has become a key fixture in Saudi Arabia’s domestic boxing calendar. Spectators filled the venue as finalists competed in closely contested bouts that underscored the rising standard of the sport in the country.
Organisers said the championship is part of a broader effort by the Saudi Boxing Federation to strengthen the sport’s development at both grassroots and elite levels. By attracting a large pool of participants and offering structured competition, the initiative aims to build a stronger pipeline of talent capable of competing internationally.
Boxing has seen increased attention in Saudi Arabia in recent years, with local tournaments and international events contributing to its growth. Officials hope that competitions such as the Elite Belt will help raise the profile of Saudi athletes and position the Kingdom as an emerging force in the global boxing scene.
The successful conclusion of this year’s contest is expected to encourage further participation and investment in the sport, as authorities continue to expand opportunities for both amateur and professional boxers across the country.
