Badr Al Darwish, President of the Qatar Equestrian and Pentathlon Federation, has been elected as a member of the Solidarity Committee of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). The election, announced during the FEI General Assembly in Abu Dhabi, highlights Qatar’s ongoing contributions to the development of equestrian sports in the region and Asia.

Expressing his gratitude for the confidence shown by FEI members, Al Darwish described his election as a recognition of Qatar’s efforts in promoting equestrian sports on a regional and global scale. “This achievement reflects the significant strides Qatar has made in hosting and supporting equestrian events, further establishing itself as a hub for the sport,” he stated.

Qatar’s commitment to equestrianism has been evident through its hosting of numerous international competitions and initiatives aimed at developing the sport. Al Darwish reaffirmed the federation’s dedication to showcasing Qatar on the global equestrian stage, highlighting the upcoming second edition of the Doha International Equestrian Tour in early 2025. The prestigious event will attract some of the world’s top riders, reinforcing Qatar’s status as a premier destination for equestrian excellence.

Commitment to Global Engagement

The FEI General Assembly, held in Abu Dhabi, brought together representatives from 137 countries and was presided over by FEI President Ingmar De Vos. The event served as a platform for member nations to discuss the future of equestrian sports and elect representatives to various committees, including the Solidarity Committee.

Qatar’s active participation in such forums underscores its strategy to foster international collaboration and contribute to the development of equestrian sports worldwide. “Our presence in these global platforms is not only a testament to Qatar’s growing influence in the equestrian community but also an opportunity to share our expertise and vision for the sport,” Al Darwish added.

Upcoming Milestones

With Qatar gearing up to host the Doha International Equestrian Tour in 2025, the federation is focused on creating a world-class event that reflects the country’s passion for equestrianism. The tournament will feature top-tier riders and showcase Qatar’s state-of-the-art facilities and organizational capabilities.

Al Darwish’s election to the FEI Solidarity Committee is expected to further enhance Qatar’s contributions to global equestrian sports, solidifying its role as a key player in the international arena.
