Qobra Opens New York Hub as US Companies Seek Audit-Ready Commission Management

Qobra Opens New York Hub as US Companies Seek Audit-Ready Commission Management

French-founded sales compensation platform Qobra is expanding its presence in the United States with a New York office that will anchor its North American business. The move follows a milestone of more than $1 billion in commissions certified through its software worldwide.

As reported by Reuters, the company will run its US operations from an office at 1700 Broadway in Manhattan. Qobra announced the expansion on September 21, 2026, noting that its platform now serves more than 350 customer accounts and around 30,000 active users across different markets. The New York base is intended to support fast commercial growth in the US, where demand for software that can calculate, explain and document sales commissions has been rising among finance and revenue operations teams.

The timing reflects a wider shift in how companies look at variable pay. Sales commissions used to be treated mainly as an administrative task: someone collected deal data, applied the plan rules and sent the results to payroll. For US businesses, that process now carries significant accounting weight. Under the ASC 606 revenue recognition standard and the related ASC 340-40 guidance, the incremental costs of winning a contract, including the commissions paid to salespeople, must be capitalized and then amortized over time instead of being recorded as an expense all at once. In practice, finance teams need to know which commission belongs to which contract, how long the related customer relationship is expected to last and how the cost should be spread across reporting periods. Keeping track of this in spreadsheets is difficult. Manual files tend to fall out of sync with CRM and billing data, formulas become harder to maintain as plans grow more complex, and every correction increases the risk of an error that auditors will later question. That combination of operational strain and compliance exposure is the gap Qobra aims to fill for RevOps and finance departments.

Audit-Ready Commission Management

To serve that demand, Qobra plans to grow its local go-to-market, customer success and solution engineering teams in New York. The office will act as the headquarters for North American operations and offer customers onboarding tailored to the region, along with support available during their working hours. Its target audience includes both large regional enterprises and fast-growing mid-market companies, many of which reach a stage where commission plans become too complicated to manage by hand. Antoine Fort, Qobra’s co-founder and CEO, said that finance and RevOps leaders are increasingly concerned with whether the whole commission lifecycle can be audited, explained and trusted, and that calculating payouts is only one part of that picture. According to Fort, having a physical presence in New York will let the company work more closely with US organizations that want to remove spreadsheet risk and automate their compliance with ASC 606.

The platform replaces manual workflows with a structured system that connects plan design, data and reporting. Its main capabilities include:

  • no-code configuration that lets operations teams create and modify complex commission plans without writing code or building nested formulas;
  • native integrations with CRM, HRIS, data warehouse and billing tools, so that the data behind each calculation stays synchronized;
  • real-time dashboards that show sales representatives what they have earned as deals close;
  • a complete, timestamped audit trail of every calculation and approval, giving finance teams a verifiable record for financial reporting.

The company says these features also influence sales performance. Based on Qobra’s internal benchmarking, customers save an average of five days per month on commission administration after adopting the platform. The same data shows an average 15% increase in sales target attainment, which Qobra attributes to salespeople having clearer visibility into how their work translates into pay. These figures come from the company’s own analysis and describe averages across its client base, so results for an individual business will depend on factors such as the complexity of its plans, the quality of its source data and how actively its sales team uses the dashboards. For organizations that pay commissions across several teams, products or regions, the combination of time savings and audit readiness is usually where the value becomes most visible.

Qobra was founded in 2020 by Antoine Fort, Tanguy Moullec and Axel Poitral, with the goal of building compensation software specifically for revenue operations and finance teams. The platform automates commission calculations, gives revenue teams live insight into their earnings and produces fully auditable records for financial reporting. The company raised €5 million in a Seed round in 2022 and followed it with a €10 million Series A in 2023. With New York joining its existing offices in Paris and London, Qobra now operates from three major business centers, positioning itself to support international customers that need their commission processes to meet the same standard of transparency expected from the rest of their financial reporting.
