Brazilian winger Wanderson Galeno has returned to full training with Al-Ahli after a three-week injury layoff, the Saudi Pro League club confirmed on Saturday. His return comes just in time for the team’s decisive final match of the season against Al-Riyadh on Monday in Round 34 of the Roshn League.

Al-Ahli announced Galeno’s recovery through a statement on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, confirming that the 26-year-old is once again available for selection. His comeback provides a major boost to the Jeddah-based club as they aim to finish their campaign on a high note.

Galeno had been sidelined since suffering a thigh muscle injury during the AFC Champions League final on May 3, where Al-Ahli secured a 2–0 win over Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale. The Brazilian winger played a pivotal role in that victory, scoring one of the goals and helping the team clinch their first continental title in over a decade.

Since joining Al-Ahli from Brazil in January, Galeno has quickly established himself as a key figure in the squad. In just 18 appearances across all competitions, he has scored seven goals and contributed five assists, earning praise for his pace, creativity, and attacking flair.

His return adds valuable depth to manager Matthias Jaissle’s attacking options as Al-Ahli prepares for a high-stakes encounter with Al-Riyadh. The match could determine Al-Ahli’s final league standing, with qualification for regional competitions and prize money implications on the line.

Galeno’s recovery is also a welcome sign for Al-Ahli supporters, who have been eager to see their club maintain momentum following the historic AFC Champions League triumph. The Brazilian’s sharp form before the injury had been instrumental in Al-Ahli’s late-season push, and his availability could be decisive in the season’s final fixture.

With Galeno back in the squad, Al-Ahli will be looking to cap off their campaign with a strong performance, hoping to build on their recent successes as they look ahead to next season’s domestic and continental challenges.
