Ahead of the highly anticipated Jeddah E-Prix, the FIA, Formula E management, and participating teams joined forces at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit to inspire the next generation of female motorsport enthusiasts. As part of the FIA Girls On Track initiative, 120 young local girls had the opportunity to engage with the world of motorsports through a series of interactive events.

The FIA Girls On Track program, aimed at increasing female participation in motorsport, welcomed girls aged 12 to 18 for a hands-on experience designed to showcase different aspects of the industry.

Empowering the Next Generation

The event featured a mix of educational workshops, mentorship sessions, and practical demonstrations to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the motorsport world. Experts from Formula E teams and industry partners shared insights into various career opportunities, including engineering, mechanics, media, and race operations.

Organizers emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusion in motorsports, highlighting the growing opportunities for women in what has traditionally been a male-dominated field.

“This initiative is about breaking barriers and inspiring young women to see motorsport as a viable career path,” said an FIA representative. “We want them to know that there is a place for them in this industry, whether as drivers, engineers, or team executives.”

Engaging Activities and Hands-On Learning

Participants took part in various STEM-focused activities, including simulator experiences, pit stop challenges, and discussions with professional women working in the sport. The program also emphasized sustainability and innovation, two core principles of Formula E, to educate young minds on the future of racing.

A local participant expressed her excitement about the event: “I have always loved racing, but I never thought I could be part of it. Today, I learned so much about the different roles in motorsport, and I feel inspired to follow my dreams.”

Commitment to Diversity in Motorsport

The FIA Girls On Track program aligns with Formula E’s broader commitment to fostering diversity in racing. With Saudi Arabia hosting the Jeddah E-Prix, the initiative serves as a milestone in promoting female empowerment in sports in the region.

As the motorsport industry continues to evolve, events like these ensure that more young women have the knowledge and inspiration to pursue careers in racing and related fields. With growing support from governing bodies, teams, and sponsors, the future of women in motorsport looks increasingly promising.
