Ketanji Brown Jackson has been named the first black woman judge of the US Supreme Court. Joe Biden says it is an honor to introduce Ketanji Jackson.
In his first year in office, Biden nominated 62 women to federal courts, including 24 black women. Ketanji Jackson, 51, was appointed to a federal bench in 2013 and was promoted to the DC Circuit Court of Appeals last year. Following the retirement of Justice Stephen, the oldest US Supreme Court judge, she will take their place.
