UAE Forecast to Experience Fog, Dust, and Light Rain Through January 8

January 4, 2026

The United Arab Emirates will face unstable weather from Sunday, January 4, through Thursday, January 8, with fog, dusty winds, and occasional light rainfall expected, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported.

Weather conditions will alternate between dusty and partly cloudy skies, with periods of fog or mist and increased wind activity, particularly over coastal and sea areas. The NCM said conditions could lead to rough seas in the Arabian Gulf and moderate seas in the Oman Sea.

On Sunday, January 4, fog or mist may form over internal and coastal regions, while dusty conditions gradually ease, giving way to partly cloudy skies, the state news agency WAM reported, citing NCM forecasts. Winds will range from light to moderate, shifting from southwesterly to northwesterly and becoming stronger at times, especially at sea, raising dust and sand. Wind speeds are expected to reach between 15 and 30 kilometers per hour, with gusts up to 50 kilometers per hour.

Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are forecast to be rough to very rough, while the Oman Sea will remain moderate.

On Monday, January 5, humid conditions are expected with the possibility of fog or mist over eastern internal areas. Skies will be fair to partly cloudy, with low clouds forming over eastern and northern regions, and light rainfall may occur in the far north. Temperatures are likely to drop, particularly in western areas. Winds will be mostly northwesterly, shifting to northeasterly, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 kilometers per hour and gusts reaching 40 kilometers per hour. Sea conditions will remain rough to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

Humidity is expected to persist into Tuesday, January 6, with fog or mist possible over internal and western coastal areas. Weather conditions will range from fair to partly cloudy, with low clouds forming over islands and western sea areas, and light rainfall may continue in some regions.

On Wednesday, January 7, humid weather will remain, with fog or mist over internal and western coastal areas. Skies will be fair to partly cloudy, and rainfall is possible, particularly over islands and western coastal regions.

By Thursday morning, January 8, fog or mist is likely over internal areas, especially in the west. The skies will remain fair to partly cloudy, with low clouds over islands and coastal areas, while temperatures are expected to drop in northern parts of the country. Winds will continue to shift between northeasterly and northwesterly, remaining light to moderate and active at times. Sea conditions will range from slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and remain slight in the Oman Sea.
