Peace agreements with Israel

Peace agreements with Israel

Trump has always been in international newspapers because of his policies and his style of governing. Recently, his role in peace between Arab-Israel has sparked a new debate. Today it is being discussed in the world’s newspapers and media.

Finally, after 60 years of war and boycott period now peace agreements between the Arab countries and Israel are being renewed with the help of the United States. Today, the UAE, Bahrain and Sudan have forged their own relations, and the rest of the Arab world is following in their footsteps. In past, there have been peace agreements between Arab countries and Israel, but those peace agreements could not be finalized. Because the people on both sides were not ready to recognize each other, but now perhaps both sides’ people agree for bilateral relations.

Recently, the news of the joint arrival of the Israeli Prime Minister and the US Secretary of State in Saudi Arabia news spread like wildfire that Saudi Arabia is also going to recognize Israel. But as soon as the news spread, the Saudi foreign minister jumped into the fray, saying that it’s not true. But on the other side, Israeli newspapers and radio confirmed the meeting with Saudi Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

It is also a fact that Israeli radio had long ago confirmed that such meetings held between Saudi Amir and Israel delegation back in 2017, and as a result in 2018 Saudi Arabia signed a $250 million spy equipment deal with Israel with the collaboration of USA. So it is difficult to believe that the Gulf States would have gone ahead without Saudi Arabia’s blessing.

At the same time, there have been rumors in Pakistan about recognizing Israel but Imran Khan Stands by his principled position that such a thing is not under consideration among us until Palestine is liberated. He expressed this in subdued words, which shows that Pakistan also has somehow pressure from Arab countries or the United States to recognize Israel.

One thing we should also keep in mind that if Pakistan today recognizes Israel without any solution for Palestine, then there will be no moral grounds for Pakistan to raise its voice for the right of Kashmir’s to self-confidence. So ultimately Pakistan will have to give-up its Kashmir cause forever.

Normalization of ties with Israel without a two states solution could further isolate Palestinians and create conflicts in the Middle East.  So now the time will decide, like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan also backed down from its principled stance or not.
