Pakistan’s foreign policy: Is it improved now or was it better before?

Pakistan’s foreign policy has been developed to promote and accelerate the national interests of Pakistan in all foreign and external domains.  As per Quaid-e-Azam, Pakistan’s foreign policy;

“Our foreign policy is one of friendliness and goodwill towards all the nations of the world. We do not cherish aggressive designs against any country or nation. We believe in the principle of honesty and fair play in national and international dealings and are prepared to make our utmost contribution to the promotion of peace and prosperity among the nations of the world. Pakistan will never be found lacking in extending its material and moral support to the oppressed and suppressed peoples of the world, and in upholding the principles of the United Nations Charter.”

Pakistan’s foreign policy

Over decades we have observed Pakistan has good bilateral relationships with the overall world, especially with Arab and Gulf countries Pakistan has always enjoyed privileged and sophisticated relationships due to it’s special and strategic position in South Asia and many appreciated stances over serious incidents which were not only appreciated in fact were welcomed by the international community in order to promote peace, harmony and prosperity in all regions.  

On the other hand, these strong bilateral ties are not just strong with gulf countries, in fact, they are also good with western countries as well. UK has always maintained a strategic partnership with Pakistan in many sectors which include especially Women empowerment projects, Education of women and kids, health development projects, scholarship programs to students of Pakistan, and various talent recruitment programs. Same way USA also giving special attention to Pakistan due to its important role played in maintaining peace in this whole region. USA is also very interested in promoting trade relationship with Pakistan by appreciating the various initiatives of Pakistan to promote e-commerce, welcoming exports from Pakistan into their market, participating in educational programs by giving various scholarships to Pakistani students in the field of medical, engineering, science etc.

Similarly, premium gulf countries like Kuwait, Saudi, and Dubai have not just welcomed many Pakistanis as employees in different fields in fact they welcomed Pakistani entrepreneurs to promote businesses in their lands. 

Pakistan has always enjoyed amazing connections with its neighboring countries, Arabs and Gulf countries, and western countries as well. They have not only promoted mutual bilateral business ties, in fact, but many similar interests and fields have also been explored for mutual growth, harmony, and stability in South Asia. Currently, Pakistan has observed a drastic improvement in its foreign policy and also foreign relationships with the world which is highly appreciated and remarkable.
