Swedish police have revealed that eight of the ten people killed in a recent attack on a school in the city of Orebro were of migrant origin, while the other two were Swedish citizens. The tragic incident, which took place on February 4 at Risbergska High School, left eleven people dead, including the attacker, who later committed suicide.

The perpetrator, identified as 35-year-old Rickard Andersson, was a Swedish citizen who reportedly suffered from psychological disorders, according to Stockholm police. Orebro city police confirmed that the victims included seven women and three men. Among the deceased were two Syrian citizens, as well as individuals from Eritrea, Iran, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Somalia, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

The attack has been described as one of the deadliest in Sweden’s history. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson called it “the worst mass shooting in Swedish history” and urged the nation to stand together in unity during this difficult time.

The incident has shocked the local community and sparked discussions about mental health, gun control, and the integration of migrants in Swedish society. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the motives behind the attack, while the city of Orebro mourns the loss of lives.

As Sweden grapples with the aftermath of this tragedy, the focus remains on supporting the victims’ families and ensuring the safety of communities across the country.
