Saudi Arabia’s Najran Municipality has announced 23 investment opportunities covering a total area of 520,577 square metres in Al-Wadiah, with projects spanning commercial property, hospitality and transport services.
The opportunities are being offered through the Furas municipal investment portal, with November 19 set as the deadline for submitting bids, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The same date is also scheduled for the opening of bids and the final day for purchasing tender documents.
The largest project covers 360,000 square metres and involves the construction, operation and maintenance of open parking facilities for trucks and cars. The site is intended to support transport activity and provide parking capacity for vehicles using the area.
Other major opportunities include a 40,000-square-metre Category A fuel station along the international highway, a 30,150-square-metre commercial and residential complex, and the renovation and operation of an existing building covering 24,000 square metres.
The wider package includes furnished hotel apartments, warehouses, transport stations and commercial kiosks. Some of the proposed developments are located in Municipal Park and Eastern Park, while other projects involve upgrading existing municipal properties.
Najran Municipality said the offering was intended to strengthen cooperation with private investors and support economic and service development in the region. The initiative forms part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to increase private-sector involvement in municipal projects and improve the use of public assets.
Expansion of municipal investment
The latest tender comes amid a wider expansion of investment opportunities offered through Furas. The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing said more than 21,000 opportunities were listed on the platform during 2025, alongside investment contracts valued at more than SR12.6 billion ($3.36 billion).
More than 185 contracts were also signed for municipal parks. The projects are intended to improve facilities, services and maintenance while keeping the parks accessible as public spaces.
The ministry said Furas provides a standardised process for tenders and gives private investors access to municipal assets across the Kingdom.
In September, the platform announced 58 investment opportunities in Riyadh covering more than 373,000 square metres. The projects included warehouses, parking facilities, small parcel exchange centres and commercial and residential developments.
Furas currently lists more than 181,000 registered investors, over 110 participating government bodies and more than 68,000 investment opportunities.
Al-Wadiah is also an important crossing point for travellers entering Saudi Arabia from Yemen. In May, SPA reported that authorities had introduced dedicated bus lanes and X-ray screening to speed up customs procedures for arriving pilgrims. The crossing also provides passport-control technology, health services and reception facilities.
Interested investors can access tender details and submit bids through the Furas website or mobile application.
