RAHIM YAR KHAN, Pakistan – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two nations. The talks focused on economic, trade, and developmental initiatives, aiming to foster sustainable growth and prosperity for both countries.

The meeting, held in the city of Rahim Yar Khan, highlighted the strong historical ties between the UAE and Pakistan and underscored their shared commitment to further strengthening these relations. The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Sharif expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s ongoing support, particularly in developmental fields. He acknowledged the Emirates’ initiatives that have contributed significantly to Pakistan’s progress, emphasizing his nation’s pride in the enduring friendship between the two countries.

“The UAE has always stood by Pakistan, providing vital support in times of need and investing in its development,” Sharif said. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation in various sectors, including economic, investment, and developmental domains, to advance mutual interests and benefit the people of both nations.

The UAE President, in turn, reaffirmed his country’s dedication to deepening ties with Pakistan. The discussions reflected a shared vision for enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in areas that align with their goals for sustainable economic development.

The high-level meeting was attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; and Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan.

The UAE and Pakistan have maintained strong diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations over the decades. The UAE is one of Pakistan’s largest trading partners in the Middle East and a significant source of foreign direct investment. In recent years, the two nations have collaborated on numerous developmental projects, further cementing their partnership.

The meeting in Rahim Yar Khan underscores the leaders’ shared vision to build on this foundation, with a focus on fostering prosperity and addressing regional and global challenges. Observers see the interaction as a testament to the robust ties and mutual respect that continue to characterize UAE-Pakistan relations.

The discussions are expected to pave the way for new initiatives and agreements that will bolster cooperation and deliver tangible benefits to the people of both nations.
