The United Arab Emirates marked its 53rd National Day on Saturday, December 2, celebrating more than five decades of transformation from a nascent nation to a global leader in innovation, tolerance, and progress.
The historic foundation of the UAE dates back to December 2, 1971, when Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum and Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan sealed their commitment to unity with a symbolic handshake. That moment heralded a new era for the Gulf region, setting the stage for the UAE’s rapid ascent as a global hub.
Reflecting on this journey, former Minister of Economy Sultan Al Mansoori highlighted the UAE’s remarkable achievements. “Looking at what has been achieved so far and the ambitious targets set for 2030 and 2050, I am confident the UAE will continue to prosper and lead globally while remaining an oasis of peace, tolerance, and acceptance,” he said.
