Despite a severe winter storm disrupting large parts of the United States, UAE airlines confirmed on Monday that their flights to the US remain unaffected.
The storm, which has blanketed over 12 states with snow and ice, led to the cancellation of more than 2,200 flights and disrupted over 10,000 others. Additionally, around 60 million people are under weather warnings, and more than 250,000 homes have been left without power as the storm made its way toward Washington after impacting central US regions.
Abu Dhabi’s national carrier, Etihad Airways, assured passengers that all US-bound flights were operating on schedule as of Monday evening. “Our flights to the US are running as scheduled,” the airline confirmed, providing relief to travelers amid the chaos caused by the storm.
Similarly, Dubai-based flagship airline Emirates stated that its US operations remained unaffected by the adverse weather conditions. “There’s no impact on our flights to the US,” an Emirates spokesperson said.
The winter storm has caused significant disruption across the United States, straining airlines, transportation networks, and emergency services. Heavy snowfall, freezing temperatures, and icy roads have complicated travel plans for millions of people, especially as the storm approaches major metropolitan areas like Washington, D.C.
Airlines operating within the US have faced considerable challenges, with many canceling or delaying flights to ensure passenger safety. However, UAE airlines have been able to maintain their schedules due to effective planning and coordination with US aviation authorities.
The UAE airlines’ ability to maintain uninterrupted services highlights their resilience and commitment to ensuring smooth travel for passengers even during challenging circumstances. Both Etihad and Emirates have advised passengers to monitor their websites for updates, particularly as the weather situation in the US evolves.
While the storm continues to impact US domestic travel, the efforts by UAE carriers to keep operations steady have been welcomed by international travelers.
With the storm expected to persist for the next several days, authorities in affected states are urging residents to take precautions and stay updated on weather advisories. Meanwhile, UAE airlines are closely monitoring the situation to ensure passenger safety and operational continuity.
As the storm progresses, UAE carriers remain a reliable option for travelers navigating the challenges posed by extreme weather in the United States.
