The second edition of the Human Capability Initiative (HCI) Conference is set to begin on Sunday at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Backed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also chairs the Human Capability Development Program Committee, the high-profile global event underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to human capital development as a key pillar of its long-term growth and sustainability agenda.
Held under the theme “Beyond Preparing for the Future,” the two-day conference aims to highlight the critical role of human potential in driving sustainable development and shaping resilient societies. The event will bring together over 300 speakers from around the world, including influential policymakers, business leaders, academics, and representatives from civil society.
The conference will host more than 100 dialogue sessions covering a wide range of topics such as technological advancement, innovation, education reform, and workforce development. A key focus will be on how to leverage innovation and digital tools to unlock and enhance human capabilities across sectors.
According to organizers, the sessions will also explore the importance of building inclusive and adaptive lifelong learning environments that equip individuals to thrive in rapidly changing economic and social landscapes. This approach is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which places human development at the core of national transformation.
In addition to thought-provoking discussions, the HCI Conference aims to foster global cooperation by encouraging strategic partnerships between governments, educational institutions, and private-sector stakeholders. These collaborations are expected to play a pivotal role in crafting sustainable solutions that empower individuals and communities.
The event also serves as a platform for sharing best practices and policy insights on how nations can invest in their populations to prepare for emerging challenges and opportunities in a post-digital, AI-driven world.
By hosting this event, Saudi Arabia is reinforcing its position as a regional leader in education and innovation-led development. The initiative reflects a broader national ambition to build a competitive knowledge-based economy and support human capital growth as a driver of social and economic resilience.
As global attention turns to Riyadh for the HCI Conference, participants and observers alike will be watching closely to see how the insights and outcomes from the gathering will influence global strategies for human capability development and sustainable growth in the years to come.
