Qatar Reshuffles Experts Affairs Committee Leadership

HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi has issued a decision to restructure the leadership of Qatar’s Experts Affairs Committee, in accordance with Article 3 of Law No. 16 of 2017, which governs the regulation of expertise work.

The decision appoints Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi, a representative of the Ministry of Justice, as the new chairman of the committee. The reformed committee includes six members, representing various key legal and governmental institutions. Dr. Mansour Nasser Al Qahtani, representing the Supreme Judiciary Council, Saleh Ali Al Kubaisi from the Public Prosecution, Abdullah Mohammed Abu Shahab, and Khamis Mohammed Al Kaabi, both representing the Ministry of Justice, along with Dr. Hashem Abdul Rahim Al Sayed, and Mohammed Misfer Al Hajri, have been appointed to serve as committee members.

During the committee’s first meeting under the new leadership, discussions centered on the group’s work program and the mechanisms needed to ensure its effective operation. The Experts Affairs Committee holds a significant role in overseeing the organization of expert work within the country. This includes managing the registration process for experts who meet the legal criteria for practicing their work before judicial authorities and other relevant bodies.

The committee also plays a critical role in holding experts accountable for their professional conduct through disciplinary mechanisms and reviewing registration requests in compliance with the law.

In a statement, the newly appointed chairman Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi affirmed the Ministry of Justice’s full commitment to supporting the committee’s operations. He emphasized the importance of providing the necessary resources—human, administrative, and organizational—to ensure that the committee can effectively assist the judiciary. The committee’s work is essential in supporting the justice system, particularly by providing technical expertise that contributes to the swift and fair resolution of cases.

Al Suwaidi also highlighted the Ministry’s dedication to facilitating the work of the Experts Department, ensuring the smooth implementation of the committee’s duties as outlined in its jurisdiction. The committee’s efforts aim to bolster the judicial process and contribute to achieving justice across Qatar.
