Qatar Airways Group inaugurated its annual safety and security awareness event under the theme, “It Begins With You and Continues With Me,” aiming to reinforce a culture of safety across its business operations. The launch took place at The Plaza Doha and was led by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Badr Mohammed al-Meer.
The event, organized in collaboration with key partners from across Qatar, includes contributions from the Ministry of Interior, Mowasalat (Karwa), and Hamad Medical Corporation. Various Qatar Airways divisions and subsidiaries, such as Qatar Aviation Services, Qatar Aircraft Catering Company, Qatar Duty Free, Discover Qatar, Hamad International Airport, and Oryx International School, also lent their support to the initiative.
Commitment to Collaboration
Al-Meer emphasized the significance of collaboration in enhancing safety and security measures.
“Collaboration remains the most important approach to advancing sustainable safety and security. Today’s partnership approach underscores our country’s shared vision and dedication to achieving a common goal of offering a safe and secure air transport network,” he stated.
The event, which runs from January 12 to January 14, features daily exhibition booths. Attendees can visit the booths from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first day and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following days.
Interactive Activities and Awareness Campaigns
The event offers engaging activities, including quizzes, live demonstrations, games, team contests, competitions, and recognition awards. Qatar Airways Group Chief Risk Officer, Ashish Jain, highlighted the importance of innovation in achieving safety objectives.
“When it comes to safety and security at Qatar Airways Group, we continually explore new and innovative ways to deliver and meet objectives. I am proud of the collaboration that has taken place between our divisions, subsidiaries, and external partners to produce an exceptionally successful event for all Qatar Airways Group employees,” Jain remarked.
Key Exhibitions and Campaigns
The Ministry of Interior is showcasing its initiatives through displays from the General Directorate of Civil Defence, the General Directorate of Drug Enforcement, and the General Directorate of Traffic. Meanwhile, Karwa Academy, a division of Mowasalat, is spotlighting safe driving initiatives to promote traffic safety.
Hamad Medical Corporation is presenting its Kulluna Healthy Heart campaign, which has been recognized for its success in promoting heart health awareness.
The event underscores Qatar Airways Group’s commitment to fostering safety and security, both within its operations and across the broader community.
