UAE Travel Agents Stress Importance of Documentation for Visit Visa Applications

UAE Travel Agents Stress Importance of Documentation for Visit Visa Applications

Travel agents in the UAE are urging visitors to ensure all required documents are in order before applying for visit visas, following stricter prerequisites introduced to streamline the process and prevent misuse.

Key requirements now include proof of stay—such as a hotel booking or a relative’s residence address—and evidence of sufficient funds, agents told Khaleej Times. These documents must be submitted during the visa application process, a shift from earlier procedures where they were required only at the airport during boarding.

“Previously, travelers needed to show proof of stay, return tickets, and currency equivalent to Dh3,000 at the airport. Now, these documents must be uploaded during the visa application process,” said Mir Wasim Raja, manager at Galadari International Travel Services.

The updated measures aim to ensure applicants can sustain themselves during their visit and to reduce the likelihood of visa misuse. Travel agencies are now closely scrutinizing applications to minimize rejection rates.

“We process thousands of visa applications daily, but recently, some have been rejected due to incomplete documents,” said Masiuddin Mohammed, founder of SuperJet Tours and Travels LLC. “Applications with complete documentation are the only ones being approved.”

Agents highlighted that applicants must provide proof of stay, return tickets, and recent bank statements to demonstrate sufficient funds. A valid passport with at least six months of validity is also essential.

“Airport authorities may conduct random checks for these documents, including proof of stay, return tickets, and funds equivalent to Dh3,000 for a one-month visa or Dh5,000 for a two-month visa,” said Firoz Maliyakkal, founder and CEO of Tahira Tours and Travels.

Previously, Khaleej Times reported that travelers were advised to carry these documents while flying to the UAE. The updated rules now require all documentation to be submitted at the visa application stage.

Travel agencies have observed confusion among some applicants unaware of the changes, leading to delays and rejections. To address this, agencies are providing detailed checklists and educating clients on the new requirements.

“Two of my clients recently faced visa rejections because their documents were incomplete,” said Taha Siddique, owner of Siddique Tours and Travels. “It’s essential for applicants to meticulously prepare their paperwork to avoid such issues.”

Travel experts recommend consulting reliable agencies and double-checking documents before submission to ensure a smooth visa approval process. With these steps, visitors can avoid complications and enjoy a hassle-free travel experience in the UAE.
