The UAE is set to experience scattered rainfall in some regions on Tuesday, December 24, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The weather forecast indicates cloudy to partly cloudy conditions, with rain expected primarily in northern and coastal areas.
The rainy weather is anticipated to persist into Christmas Day, coinciding with the official onset of winter in the country. While precipitation may be intermittent, nights are expected to be humid, particularly in internal regions, continuing into Wednesday morning.
Wind conditions will range from light to moderate, occasionally freshening. Winds will blow from northwesterly to northeasterly directions at speeds of 10-25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 35 km/h in some areas.
Sea conditions are expected to remain moderate to slight in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea will be relatively calm, providing stable maritime conditions despite the forecasted rain.
The NCM has also warned of unstable weather conditions lasting until Thursday. This is attributed to the influence of a surface low-pressure system extending from the southeast. The system is expected to bring sporadic rainfall over coastal regions, islands, and northern and eastern parts of the UAE.
Skies will remain partly cloudy to cloudy throughout this period, creating a typical winter atmosphere across the country. Residents have been advised to stay updated on weather changes and exercise caution, especially in areas prone to rainfall.
The onset of these conditions marks the beginning of the UAE’s winter season, characterized by cooler temperatures and occasional rain, offering a welcome change to the typically dry climate.
