Dubai Inmate Attends Daughter’s Wedding Virtually Thanks to Police Initiative

In a heartwarming gesture, Dubai Police facilitated an inmate’s virtual participation in his daughter’s wedding ceremony, allowing him to witness the signing of her marriage contract via video conferencing.

The arrangement was made by the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, underscoring their commitment to prioritizing the emotional well-being and familial connections of inmates.

“When the inmate’s family requested that he be allowed to attend the marriage contract signing online, we approved the request promptly,” said Major General Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments. “Through video conferencing, the father was connected with his family to witness the ceremony and complete all necessary legal formalities with the officiant.”

The inmate expressed deep gratitude to Dubai Police and all those involved for enabling him to be part of this significant moment in his daughter’s life.
