“Game of Thrones” is a true masterpiece not just because of its plot and cast, but also because of its beautiful scenery.Â
Here is the list of the five amazing “Game of Thrones” locations you can visit in real life. If you are bored of ordinary trips (you would rather gamble on https://20bet.com/in/prematch than visit the “typical” tourist destinations!) and want to add an element of entertainment to your travels, add these spectacular places to your bucket list.Â
Dubrovnik, Croatia (King’s Landing, Quarth)Â
This beautiful city has grown wildly popular due to the “Game of Thrones”. The main storyline of the series was and still is the struggle for the Iron Throne located in King’s Landing, and Dubrovnik embodied much of it. Although Jon Snow keeps saying that defeating the undead is far more important, Cersei and Daenerys don’t want to give up the crown. Most of the Game of Thrones key moments took place in King’s Landing, whose location was the beautiful city of Dubrovnik in Croatia.
By the way, the Minceta Tower in Dubrovnik was also the filming location for the exterior of House of Undying in Quarth. Do you remember the scene, in which Daenerys was searching for her dragons which were taken from her?
Alcázar of Seville in Seville, Spain (Dorne’s Sunspear)
AndalusÃa was one of the first places in Spain where “Game of Thrones” was filmed when the crew moved to the Alcázar in Seville to film the beautiful kingdom of Dorne, home to House Martell.
If you travel to Spain, you should add Seville to your bucket list because of its picturesque places and streets and the Alcázar of Seville.
Å ibenik, Croatia (Braavos)Â
Do you want to visit places where brave Arya Stark trained to be one of the Faceless Men? The Free City of Braavos was filmed in the small Croatian resort of Sibenik. Some of the places in Braavos, such as the temple of the Many faced God with many faces were not filmed here – the temple was created with the help of computer graphics.Â
But the Cathedral of St. James in Sibenik is home to the largest and most powerful Iron Bank, and the streets of Sibenik are seen in many “GoT” seasons. Do you remember the scene in which Arya Stark pushed an oyster cart or hunted people on her list? Or her epic fight with the Waif in the port? To visit magnificent Sibenik, you can first take a flight to the Croatian city of Split. Valar Morghulis!Â
Ait Benhaddou, Morocco (Yunkai and Pentos)
The fortified city of Ait Ben-Haddou, situated in Central Morocco, was a filming location for two towns in the “GoT” universe: the city of slavers Yunkai, and the free city of Pentos. Some of its houses are so old that they transport tourists back in time. So, it is clear why the creators of “GoT” have also chosen this historic city to be one of the filming locations. By the way, Morocco was also a filming location for many scenes in the “Star Wars” franchise.Â
Reykjavik, Iceland (Wildling’s Homeland)Â
A national park in Iceland Vatnajeküdl made it easy for the film crew to create the snowy plains that spread across the north of Westeros. Located near Reykjavik, Vatnajeküdl stretches for hundreds of kilometers. Its icy landscapes have become the Land Beyond the Wall, an eternally cold and undiscovered land where you can meet giant polar bears and dire wolves.Â
Not far from the island, there is also a location in South West Iceland, where the White Walkers come from (Þingvel), as well as Grjótagjá, the cave where the romantic scene between Ygritte and Jon Snow was filmed. So, how about traveling to all these places during your next vacation?Â
