A new industry survey has revealed that restaurant operators in the United Arab Emirates are increasingly embracing advanced data-driven technologies to sharpen competitiveness and boost profitability in a rapidly evolving food and beverage (F&B) market.
According to research published in April 2025 by hospitality insights firm SevenRooms, 87 percent of UAE restaurant owners are already incorporating digital analytics into their operations, placing the country among the global leaders in adoption. Data analytics ranked among the top five most widely used tools worldwide, underscoring its role in reshaping how restaurants manage performance and meet consumer expectations.
Seizing on this momentum, Foodics, a leading restaurant operations and payments technology company in the Middle East and North Africa, has rolled out Foodics BI, a comprehensive business intelligence platform designed to turn complex, real-time business data into clear, actionable strategies. Integrated seamlessly with the company’s wider ecosystem, the platform promises to help operators increase efficiency, enhance decision-making, and drive sustainable long-term growth.
“In a market where competition is stronger than ever, Foodics BI gives restaurateurs that extra edge,” said Belal Zahran, Foodics International’s managing director for Egypt and the UAE. “By turning real-time, complex data into clear and actionable insights, we’re helping restaurateurs make smarter and more informed decisions, respond to challenges faster and unlock new growth opportunities.”
The platform has been tailored for executives, owners, and managers who require a holistic view of business performance. Its features include:
-
Advanced Data Exploration for in-depth analysis of trends and customer behavior.
-
Intelligent Insights Suite offering forecasting and inventory optimisation to minimise waste.
-
Live Monitoring Hub with real-time updates on sales and operational performance.
-
Performance Benchmarking Toolkit comparing results across outlets, products, and categories.
-
Simplified Reporting and Visualisation through automated reports and dynamic dashboards.
-
Integrated Data Accessibility with mobile and cross-platform access for flexibility.
Early adopters have reported significant gains. One Saudi-based restaurant chain cited by Foodics recorded a tenfold increase in actionable insights after adopting the platform, enabling the group to retire its internal reporting systems in favor of Foodics BI. The change allowed managers to make quicker, more precise decisions, leading to measurable improvements in accuracy and performance.
Foodics says data-driven insights generated by the system have boosted sales by as much as 10 percent while lifting profit margins by around 20 percent in some cases. Available as both a mobile application and a web-based platform, Foodics BI enables operators to access critical business intelligence anytime and anywhere, positioning the tool as a key driver of the next growth phase for the region’s F&B sector.
As the UAE’s restaurant industry becomes more competitive, experts suggest that such advanced solutions could become standard practice, transforming the way operators manage their businesses and meet the demands of an increasingly data-conscious customer base.
