Axis Communications is showcasing the latest advancements in intelligent security systems at Intersec Dubai 2026, reflecting the industry’s shift from traditional surveillance to data-driven, connected solutions. Loubna Imenchal, managing director for the Middle East, Turkey, Central Asia and Africa (META), said the region is witnessing rapid growth as organisations prioritise systems that combine security with operational intelligence.
At the exhibition, Axis is presenting a range of network video and sensing technologies designed for complex environments. Demonstrations include smart traffic monitoring, stadium and arena security, and critical infrastructure protection, featuring thermal cameras, radar technology and fusion cameras. The company is also expanding its IP audio and Internet of Things (IoT) offerings, including display speakers, cloud-based audio solutions and air quality sensors. These devices can generate data that feeds dashboards and analytics, enabling faster, more informed decision-making.
The global security and video surveillance market continues to expand at a strong pace, with annual growth estimated at 10–12 per cent through the late 2020s. In the META region, growth is expected to exceed global averages, driven by long-term national visions and large-scale investments in smart cities, transportation, tourism, and critical infrastructure. The market is increasingly moving toward advanced surveillance solutions that integrate analytics, edge processing and multiple sensor types, offering long-term operational value rather than simple video recording.
Industry trends for 2026 highlight the shift toward connected ecosystems rather than standalone products. Organisations are seeking systems that are interoperable, easier to manage across large sites, and capable of evolving over time. Edge intelligence is becoming increasingly important, with more processing happening directly in cameras and sensors, reducing reliance on central infrastructure and improving response times. Mobile and temporary security solutions are also gaining traction, supported by low-power, connected devices with advanced analytics.
Security experts emphasise the importance of cybersecurity and long-term system support. Devices with built-in security, secure hardware, firmware updates and strong access controls are essential as systems become more connected. Partnerships with vendors offering ongoing support are critical to adapting systems as threats evolve.
Axis expects the META region to remain one of the fastest-growing markets, driven by smart city projects, AI-enabled surveillance, and large-scale infrastructure developments. The UAE and Saudi Arabia are rapidly transitioning from conventional CCTV to intelligent network-based systems, while Turkey and Africa offer significant growth potential in modernising transport, utilities, industrial sites and urban surveillance.
“The region stands out globally for its growth velocity and adoption of insight-driven security systems,” Imenchal said. “Long-term resilience, interoperability and edge intelligence are now non-negotiable requirements for modern security infrastructure.”
