G42, the Abu Dhabi-based technology and artificial intelligence group, has announced the launch of a new European subsidiary, G42 Europe & UK, establishing its headquarters in London as part of its growing international expansion.
The newly formed entity will focus on delivering AI-powered solutions tailored for both private sector enterprises and public sector institutions across the UK and continental Europe. Its mission includes supporting digital transformation, bolstering AI infrastructure, and contributing to data sovereignty efforts across the region.
G42 Europe & UK will be co-chaired by two industry veterans: Omar Mir, a board member at World Wide Technology, and Marty Edelman, general counsel for G42 Group. Both bring decades of experience in technology, legal strategy, and global market expansion.
Mir, who has led major initiatives in AI, cloud computing, 5G, and edge technologies across multiple global regions, emphasised the company’s localised approach. “Our goal is to harness G42’s proven AI expertise and localise it for European and UK businesses — fuelling digital transformation, enhancing competitiveness, and building resilient, sovereign AI infrastructure,” he said.
Edelman added that the move signals G42’s commitment to the region: “The UK and Europe represent dynamic markets with immense opportunity for AI-driven innovation. By establishing a hub in London, we strengthen our ability to serve clients with deep regulatory understanding and world-class technology solutions.”
The launch of G42 Europe & UK follows a string of strategic investments by the parent group in the region, including the development of data centres and compute clusters in France and Italy. The company has reported increasing demand from European countries seeking to modernise and secure their digital infrastructure.
G42’s new subsidiary will tap into its parent company’s global network of supercomputing systems, advanced data centres, and AI development platforms. Its service portfolio will include strategic advisory, AI model development, infrastructure deployment, and managed services.
Key sectors targeted include healthcare, financial services, energy, and manufacturing. In parallel, the subsidiary plans to work closely with national and regional authorities to support next-generation AI deployment and ensure alignment with local data protection and sovereignty frameworks.
With this expansion, G42 is positioning itself as a major player in Europe’s emerging AI landscape, bridging its Middle Eastern expertise with local innovation priorities.
