In the affidavit, presented in the model court of Multan, parents of Qandeel asserted that they have pardoned their alleged sons who murdered Qandeel and urged the court to release them. As per Anti-Honor-Killing Laws bill in 2015 killers cannot walk free even after being forgiven by the victim’s family and give a life sentence to honor killer even if the victim’s family forgive them.

However, the law passed after many months of Qandeel’s murder case, therefore anti-honor killing law cannot be applied to her case. The legislation holds the authority to give life imprisonment for honor killing until a murder can be proved as a crime. In the affidavit, it is also mentioned that the allegations about honor killing are contradictory to real facts and urged the court to clear the suspects under section 345 of the criminal procedure code.
