Saudi Arabia’s Interior Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art field hospital in Arafat, marking a major step in the Kingdom’s preparations for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage. Operated by the Ministry’s General Administration of Medical Services, the 100-bed facility is equipped with advanced medical technologies and specialized emergency teams to serve pilgrims requiring urgent care, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
During his visit, Prince Abdulaziz also launched a smart health bracelet system for security personnel. The wearable technology allows for real-time monitoring of vital signs and sends automatic alerts to command centers, enhancing medical responsiveness and supporting on-ground readiness during the peak pilgrimage period.
The Interior Minister also attended a ceremony honoring Hajj Security Forces and reviewed the Kingdom’s operational preparedness through live field exercises. The demonstrations included specialized vehicles, aviation units, and advanced crowd control systems, reflecting the high level of coordination and planning involved in ensuring the safety and comfort of millions of pilgrims.
Lt. Gen. Mohammed Al-Bassami, Director of Public Security, emphasized the leadership’s commitment to ensuring a safe pilgrimage experience, highlighting the mobilization of resources and the success of joint coordination efforts across agencies.
In addition to healthcare and security preparations, Prince Abdulaziz reviewed infrastructure upgrades at key pilgrimage sites. These include the second phase of the Mashaer pedestrian pathway, now featuring eco-friendly rubber flooring designed to ease movement and reduce ground heat. He also inspected new shading and cooling systems at the Namirah Mosque in Arafat, aimed at improving worshipper comfort during peak prayer hours.
His inspection tour concluded with a visit to the newly upgraded emergency hospital in Mina, which has increased urgent care capacity and is now equipped to meet global healthcare standards.
Prince Abdulaziz later joined Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary at the Hajj Media Operations Center, where he was briefed on efforts to provide unified media coverage of this year’s pilgrimage. The visit included a tour of the “Hajj Window” and the Transformation Exhibition, showcasing the services of 11 public and private sector organizations involved in supporting pilgrims.
The comprehensive preparations underline Saudi Arabia’s commitment to providing world-class services for pilgrims, with a focus on safety, health, and seamless experience during the Hajj season.
