RIYADH — In a groundbreaking move, the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) of Saudi Arabia has unveiled the “Cybersecurity Research and Innovation Pioneers Grants Initiative.” This ambitious program is set to catalyze the development of pioneering research and innovative solutions to tackle the cybersecurity challenges of today and the future.
The initiative, which is a collaborative effort with the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE), falls under the broader “National Program for Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) in Cybersecurity.” This national program catalyzes groundbreaking initiatives that promise to open new frontiers and promote the growth of the cybersecurity industry within the Kingdom.
To reinforce Saudi Arabia’s position as a secure hub of global economic activity, the program emphasizes innovation and excellence in cybersecurity. It has identified eight strategic areas of focus, including NextGen Cyber Defense, Cyber Resilience, Cyber-Physical Technologies and IoT, AI x Cyber, Cryptography and Quantum Security, Behavioral Cyber, Future of Cyber Threats and Attacks, and Cyber Order.
The Cybersecurity Research and Innovation Pioneers Grants initiative is poised to offer grants to a wide spectrum of participants, from researchers and academics to experts and university students engaged in cybersecurity or related fields. The initiative is structured around three main tracks: Scientific Research and Projects, Postgraduate Research Theses, and Bachelor’s and Master’s Graduation Projects, all aimed at fostering large-scale advancements in cybersecurity RDI.
The NCA has extended an invitation to all qualified individuals to participate in this initiative. The application process began on July 11, and proposals can be submitted via the NCA’s official website at www.nca.gov.sa, marking a significant step towards nurturing an attractive and innovative ecosystem in the vital field of cybersecurity.
