The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has issued a public warning against unauthorized individuals or entities offering to assist citizens with land use applications in the Saudi capital. The alert came on Sunday as the Commission began implementing new directives aimed at stabilizing the real estate sector, in line with orders from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The RCRC emphasized that it is currently developing an official electronic platform that will enable citizens to submit land use applications directly, eliminating the need for intermediaries. According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency, the Commission made it clear that any claims of entities facilitating applications or offering special access are entirely false and without merit.
“No intermediaries or outside parties are authorized to submit land use applications on behalf of citizens,” the Commission stated. “Any such offers or advertisements should be considered fraudulent.”
The announcement follows a recent royal directive from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, instructing the Commission to take practical steps to help restore balance and transparency in Riyadh’s real estate sector. These efforts are part of broader national reforms aimed at improving urban planning, promoting fair access to land, and preventing speculation.
One of the key measures already implemented includes lifting restrictions on land transactions and development in northern Riyadh. This move, recommended by a joint study conducted by the RCRC and the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, is expected to increase supply and reduce inflationary pressures in the housing market.
In its statement, the RCRC urged all citizens to rely solely on official government sources for information about land use applications and real estate developments. The Commission also cautioned against falling victim to scams or unauthorized individuals claiming to provide land allocation or regulatory exemptions.
“The Commission encourages the public to wait for the launch of the official digital platform, which will provide a secure, transparent, and direct channel for handling land use requests,” it added.
The initiative is part of Riyadh’s broader urban development strategy, which supports the goals of Vision 2030 by enhancing housing availability, improving livability, and boosting investor confidence in the real estate market.
As work continues on the new platform, the RCRC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, public service, and the implementation of royal directives that ensure orderly and sustainable urban growth in the capital.
