The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has launched a series of humanitarian initiatives this week in Sudan, Yemen and Lebanon, delivering medical, economic and food assistance to vulnerable communities, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
In Port Sudan, a team of 17 volunteer doctors and specialists began a plastic surgery campaign aimed at treating burns and congenital deformities. The initiative, part of KSrelief’s wider medical volunteer program, has already examined 23 patients and performed 25 complex surgical operations. Officials said the project seeks to provide advanced care in regions where access to specialized medical services is limited, helping patients improve their quality of life and reduce long-term health complications.
In neighbouring Yemen, the centre has focused on addressing economic hardship through its career paths project in Hadhramaut Governorate. As part of the initiative, vocational kits were distributed to 80 young men and women, equipping them with the tools and training to establish small businesses. KSrelief said the program is designed to create sustainable employment opportunities, raise living standards and promote self-reliance among local communities facing persistent economic challenges.
“This project reflects our commitment to providing not only immediate assistance but also long-term solutions that empower people to build better futures for themselves,” KSrelief officials noted.
Meanwhile in Lebanon, KSrelief has continued its food security efforts in the city of Sidon, where 773 food parcels were distributed to disadvantaged families. The aid reached nearly 3,900 individuals struggling under the combined weight of economic instability and political crises. The centre said the distribution is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing program to ease hunger and support vulnerable households across the region.
The three initiatives reflect KSrelief’s multi-pronged approach to humanitarian work, combining urgent medical care, sustainable economic development and essential food aid. Since its establishment, the centre has coordinated hundreds of projects across countries affected by conflict, poverty and natural disasters, often working alongside local and international partners.
By simultaneously addressing health, livelihood and nutrition needs, KSrelief aims to deliver both immediate relief and long-term resilience in crisis-affected communities. The recent programs underscore Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to humanitarian and development support across multiple regions.
