Qatar recently hosted the inaugural Arabia Luxury Travel Show, which brought together over 160 luxury travel agents and operators to showcase the country and the broader Middle East as a premier destination for high-end tourism. The event, which began on January 12 and will conclude on January 15, aimed to further solidify Qatar’s position as a leading luxury travel hub in the region.
The four-day event saw participants from key markets, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and the Baltic States. More than 50 hotels, destination management companies, and tourism boards from across the Middle East and beyond—representing destinations such as the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, and the Indian Ocean region—took part in the show.
One of the highlights of the event was the two-day series of one-on-one business-to-business (B2B) meetings, designed to facilitate important business deals and collaborations. The final two days of the show were dedicated to networking events between buyers and exhibitors, fostering valuable connections within the luxury travel industry.
In a statement, Visit Qatar CEO Abdulaziz Ali al-Mawlawi emphasized the strategic significance of the event, saying, “This event aligns with our strategic vision to expand Qatar’s footprint in the global luxury tourism sector while strengthening our presence in key markets.”
The 2025 Arabia Luxury Travel Show covered key themes related to luxury travel, with a special focus on Doha’s appeal as a family-friendly destination. The event highlighted Qatar’s commitment to advancing its reputation as a global luxury hub, aligning with the goals of the Qatar Tourism Strategy.
As part of the experience, participants had the opportunity to explore Qatar’s rich cultural offerings. They visited the country’s vibrant souqs, world-class museums, and the stunning desert landscape, while marveling at Doha’s impressive skyline. This immersive experience provided international visitors with a taste of what Qatar has to offer as a luxury destination.
In related news, the Organising Committee for the Qatar-UAE Super Cup announced a partnership with Visit Qatar to sponsor the second edition of the tournament, set to kick off Thursday. This collaboration aims to further promote Qatar’s status as a leading global destination, enhancing the country’s role in supporting both sports and tourism.
