The US administration will intensify efforts to bring peace to Arab countries and Israel by sending two senior officials on two separate trips to the Middle East this week. The visits by US officials are being seen as an attempt to include more countries in the wake of the recent agreement to establish diplomatic relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. States Secretary Pompeo will travel to Israel, Bahrain, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Sudan on Sunday.
However, the purpose of these two visits is to achieve at least another peace agreement between Israel and the Arab countries, which will seek to establish diplomatic relations between Israel and another country in the region.
During his visit to Qatar, States Secretary Pompeo is also expected to meet with representatives of the Afghan Taliban.
The US diplomats will also discuss issues related to inter-Afghan peace talks and the withdrawal of US troops. These efforts to normalize relations between Israel and the Arab world have accelerated without resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
