Sobha Furniture, the newest venture from the renowned Sobha Group, made its official debut at Downtown Design 2025, introducing a new era of large-scale, design-driven furniture manufacturing crafted in the UAE for global markets.
Occupying more than 73,000 square metres across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Sobha Furniture operates state-of-the-art, Industry 4.0-enabled facilities, including a 53,000 sqm flagship plant in Dubai Industrial City — the largest furniture manufacturing facility of its kind in the region. The company aims to transform the UAE’s furniture sector by merging precision engineering, advanced material control, and large-scale production to deliver world-class craftsmanship and efficiency.
The brand’s global design direction is guided by its Milan-based studio, which oversees product development and ensures that every piece aligns with international standards of quality and aesthetic refinement.
“We are not entering a market. We are redefining it,” said Anuj Jain, CEO of Sobha Furniture. “There has long been a gap between design ambition and furniture manufacturing capability in this region. We built Sobha Furniture to close that gap. This is a world-class furniture manufacturing ecosystem rooted in the UAE. It is designed to serve developers, interior designers, architects, and projects at a standard previously only accessible abroad.”
The official launch was led by Sobha Group founder PNC Menon, whose career began nearly five decades ago as an interior decorator. Reflecting on the company’s origins, Menon said, “My journey began with bringing complete interior visions to life, where bespoke furniture played a central role. Sobha Furniture elevates that passion and commitment to fine detail, placing it once again at the forefront. We are applying the essence of that original craftsmanship to a modern industrial scale. This is our legacy of meticulous detail, now crafted for the world.”
At Downtown Design, Sobha Furniture’s booth embodies the brand’s dedication to precision, balance, and intentional design. The minimalist display features a kitchen and a walk-in closet, each showcasing refined materials and functional sophistication. The walk-in closet combines gunmetal aluminium framing with walnut finishes and ambient lighting, while the kitchen highlights a Taj Mahal Quartzite island paired with walnut cabinetry and metallic detailing. At the booth’s centre, an installation titled The Elements symbolises the harmony between wood, metal, and texture — a visual representation of the brand’s design philosophy.
As part of its debut, Sobha Furniture is hosting “Design Talks” on November 6 and 7, featuring industry leaders Carlo Magistretti, Chief Strategic Advisor, and Vincenzo Vinci, Chief Design Officer. The discussions will focus on design responsibility, material intention, and the evolving role of advanced furniture manufacturing in shaping modern interiors — reinforcing Sobha Furniture’s vision of combining creativity with industrial innovation.
