In a significant stride towards enhancing national security, the Women’s Police Institute of Qatar’s Police Academy has successfully concluded an intensive five-day anti-terrorism course. This initiative, a collaborative effort with the Spanish National Police, marks a commendable advancement in the specialized training of women in law enforcement.
The course saw the participation of numerous female police officers and civilian staff from different sectors of the Ministry of Interior. It was meticulously designed to elevate the participants’ readiness to tackle various security challenges and foster an environment of knowledge sharing to stay abreast of the latest developments in policing techniques.
A key focus of the training program was the evolving threat of cyberterrorism. Participants delved into its definition, the trajectory of its evolution, and the preventive strategies to combat it. The curriculum also covered the tactics employed on social media platforms, highlighting the perils and potential threats posed by cyberterrorism and related cybercrimes.
The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of Brigadier General Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti, President of the Police Academy, and Lt Col Kholoud Anbar Al Nuaimi, Director of the Women’s Police Institute. In a gesture of recognition, certificates were awarded to the diligent graduates, and the esteemed lecturers received accolades for their invaluable contributions to the program.
This course represents a pivotal step in Qatar’s commitment to empowering women in the police force and ensuring the nation’s preparedness against the multifaceted nature of modern-day terrorism.
