A demonstration organized by the Kamran Foundation in front of the Indian Embassy in The Hague. To express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri Muslims, the Kamran Foundation, in association with the Kashmir Peace Forum the Netherlands and the World Sikh Parliament, staged a protest in front of the Indian Embassy in the Hague attended by a large number of overseas Pakistanis, Sikhs, Kashmiris, and human rights activists.
Protesters held placards with slogans in favor of Kashmiris and against India’s oppression of minorities. The protesters chanted slogans against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appealed to the international community to intervene to stop the atrocities against Kashmiris and other marginalized communities of India.
Addressing the rally, Dr. Muhammad Kamran, chairman of the Kamran Foundation, criticized Western powers for being silent spectators of Indian brutalities against Kashmiris. Although the European Union is based on respect for human rights and freedom of expression but due to their vested the European countries are turning deaf ears to human rights abuses committed by the Indian military and paramilitary forces, he added.
Dr. Kamran requested the European Union to impose trade sanctions on India until it ends its illegal occupation of Kashmir and Junagarh.
Sardar Harijit Singh, the representative of the World Sikh Parliament in Europe, said that all minorities living in India, including Muslims, are victims of Modi’s oppression and the World Sikh Parliament raises its voice against every oppression.
President of Kashmir Peace Council Netherlands Zeb Khan and General Secretary Raja Farooq and representatives of human rights organizations also addressed the demonstration.
Demonstrators vowed to continue supporting Kashmiris morally and politically until they get independence from the Indian occupation.
