Kuwait has launched a crackdown on expatriates who break the law, deporting nearly 12,000 of them in the past three months. The deportation department, which is part of the General Department of Correctional Facilities, said that it deported around 4,300 expats in October alone for various offences, such as violating public morals, residency and labor laws. The department said that the deportations were part of the country’s efforts to maintain security and order and to protect the rights of citizens and legal residents.
