KAUST is proud to announce its ongoing collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) as part of the Ibn Khaldun Fellowship. This prestigious fellowship is dedicated to supporting Saudi women pursuing their PhDs, fostering their development in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
The Ibn Khaldun Fellowship, sponsored by KACST at MIT, has been instrumental in empowering 55 Saudi alumnae, including 11 graduates from KAUST. These women, equipped with advanced knowledge and skills, are making impactful contributions to their respective disciplines and beyond.
Through this initiative, the collaboration between KAUST, MIT, and KACST is not only enhancing educational opportunities but also strengthening institutional ties, paving the way for future joint ventures in research and innovation. The fellowship’s focus on elevating women in STEM is in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which emphasises increased participation of women in the workforce, especially in scientific and technological sectors.
KAUST remains committed to supporting Saudi women in achieving their highest potential, creating an environment where talent can thrive and contribute to the global scientific community. This partnership marks another milestone in the journey toward creating equal opportunities for women in STEM, advancing research excellence, and fostering international collaboration.
