Israel retaliates against Lebanon following a barrage of rockets

The Israeli military announced on Tuesday that it conducted airstrikes to destroy three launchers used in firing a portion of the 100 rockets from Lebanon toward the Israel-occupied Golan Heights.

This cross-border escalation marks the latest development in the ongoing conflict, sparking international concerns about the extension of the Israel-Hamas conflict beyond Gaza.

Israel also confirmed carrying out new airstrikes in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza as part of its ongoing efforts to combat the Hamas militant group.

Amidst warnings from the United Nations about a worsening food crisis in Gaza, a ship loaded with 200 tons of aid departed Cyprus on Tuesday, aiming to provide relief by sea.

Israel launched its military campaign against Hamas following the group’s October 7 attack on Israel, resulting in approximately 1,200 casualties, according to Israeli sources, and the capture of around 250 hostages. Gaza health officials claim that Israel’s offensive has resulted in over 31,000 fatalities and 72,700 injuries.
