Dublin
Dublin has essentially be placed at level 2.5 on the scale. In addition to the restrictions set out in level 2, the following restrictions will be in place or Dublin:
Wet Pubs – Remain Closed
Household Visits – Up to 6 visitors from one other household only are allowed
Sport Spectators – the increase in spectators does not yet apply to Dublin
Dubliners are being advised not to leave the county
Rest of Country
The remainder of the country will be placed on level 2.
How does the new plan work?
There will be 5 levels of Covid-19 restrictions, with level 1 being the least severe and level 5 being a full lockdown.
What is the aim of the new restrictions?
The Government wants to be able to introduce targeted restrictions in areas of the country where there are outbreaks. The onus will be on the public for taking responsibility for the spread of the virus by hanging the threat of restrictions over their heads if the rate of Covid-19 goes up in their county.
What factors are taken into account in determining each level?
The rate of new cases over a 2-week period
The level of community transmission
The number of hospitalizations and ICU admissions
Overall healthcare capacity, which is generally lower in the winter months
International Travel
The ‘Green List’ will be updated in line with the EU’s traffic light system that will be introduced in the coming weeks.
