Huawei Cloud is collaborating with Saudi corporate partners to enable a 10-gigabit society using 5G advanced technology, which aims to broaden access to new industries such as gaming and AI.
The announcement was made by Alan Chi, Huawei Cloud’s president for the Middle East and Central Asia.
On the topic of 6G technology, a Huawei Cloud official shared that the company is actively preparing for its development. The technology is still in the construction phase.
Huawei Technologies, a Chinese tech giant, opened a cloud Data Center in Riyadh in September 2023. This move is part of an effort to expand online services across the Middle East and North Africa MENA.
The data center aims to enhance cloud infrastructure benefits in Saudi Arabia and the broader region. This was highlighted during the “Huawei Cloud Summit Saudi Arabia 2023”.
Alan Chi shared the company’s ambitions with Al-Eqtisadiah. Huawei aims to bring the latest technologies to the Saudi market. They plan to support 200,000 local developers.
Currently, Huawei supports over 100,000 startups and more than 200,000 local partners in the region. This effort enriches the cloud and digital ecosystems in Saudi Arabia.
Chi emphasized Huawei’s commitment to expanding its data center footprint in Saudi Arabia. This includes scaling up their operations to meet growing demand.
A local support team is being added to bolster customer service. Huawei now employs over 100 local engineers dedicated to supporting Saudi customers.
This expansion into the Saudi cloud market follows the opening of Huawei’s largest flagship store outside China
in Riyadh in late 2022.
Huawei has partnered with a national company to boost local industries in telecommunications, technology, and computing through localization and digital energy initiatives.
