The Dubai Event Security Committee (ESC) has announced a wide-ranging security and transportation plan to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and visitors during the upcoming Eid Al Adha celebrations.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Acting Chairperson of the ESC and Acting Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs, confirmed that all preparations are in place to manage the festive period, with a strong focus on public safety, traffic control, and emergency readiness.
The plan involves extensive coordination between the Dubai Police, Civil Defence, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Key components include the deployment of security patrols across all mosques and major prayer grounds, as well as strategic placement of traffic teams to ease congestion across the city.
The ESC has mobilised an extensive fleet and personnel network, including 515 security patrols, 139 ambulatory points, 130 Civil Defence vehicles, 24 small cranes, and 21 land rescue patrols. Additionally, marine security will be enforced with 34 boats, five rescue boats, and two ambulatory boats, while two helicopters and four command operations rooms will provide aerial and logistical support. Five Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) units have also been placed on standby.
The health sector is prepared with 18 hospitals and outpatient clinics supported by a central health operations centre. Public safety measures will be bolstered by the 24/7 operations of the Command and Control Centre, which will respond to emergencies and manage real-time incidents.
Al Mazroui urged the public to contact 999 for emergencies and use 901 for general inquiries. He also reminded residents to adhere to road speed limits and warned against the use of fireworks, particularly by children, due to the risk of injury and fire.
In terms of transportation, the RTA has arranged for 104 Metro trains to operate during the holiday, along with nearly 17,000 luxury limousines, 13,867 taxis, 1,240 public buses, and 43 marine transport vessels. Free public parking will be available from June 5 to June 8, excluding multi-level parking facilities.
All Metro stations on the Red and Green Lines will run from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. from June 4 to June 7.
To promote community engagement, Dubai Police will host a series of sports competitions for workers in Jebel Ali, Al Sufouh, Al Muhaisnah, and Al Quoz during the first two days of Eid. These events, scheduled from 5 p.m. to midnight, aim to foster a sense of celebration and inclusivity.
Al Mazroui concluded by encouraging all citizens to cooperate with authorities and observe safety guidelines to ensure a peaceful and joyful Eid for all.
