Dubai Taxi Company (DTC), in partnership with Bolt, has signed a new agreement with National Taxi to integrate traditional taxi services into the digital ride-hailing ecosystem in Dubai. The deal, signed by Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of DTC, and Toufic Mitri, managing director of National Taxi, will see 1,823 National Taxi vehicles added to the Bolt platform, expanding the city’s digital fleet and improving service efficiency during peak periods.
The integration is part of a broader push to align Dubai’s taxi services with the emirate’s digital transformation and urban mobility goals. DTC, founded in 1994, operates more than 10,000 vehicles across taxis, limousines, buses, and delivery services, holding nearly half of Dubai’s taxi market. The city records millions of taxi trips each year, with app-based bookings continuing to rise.
Alfalasi said the collaboration enhances customer experience and strengthens Dubai’s mobility network. “Through this partnership, and with the addition of National taxis to our existing fleet of over 10,000 vehicles on the Bolt platform, we are expanding access to taxis and embedding them more deeply into the digital ride-hailing experience. This integration brings us closer to reaching the 80 percent target set by Dubai Government of converting street-hailing trips to e-hailing,” he stated.
He noted that Dubai’s rapid urbanisation, tourism growth, and digital transformation are driving demand for taxis. Integrating traditional services with digital platforms, he said, helps build a resilient and future-ready mobility system.
Mitri highlighted the operational benefits of joining the Bolt platform. “We are glad to have our fleet of 1,823 taxis on one of the UAE’s leading e-hailing platforms. This partnership represents a significant step forward in optimising fleet utilisation and enhancing efficiency. With the smart technology and real-time demand matching capabilities of the Bolt platform, we can reduce idle time, improve driver productivity, and deliver faster, more reliable service to customers,” he said.
He added that the collaboration supports sustainable mobility by enabling better route optimisation and reducing unnecessary mileage, while also improving overall service quality.
The move reflects a growing trend in Dubai to digitise urban transport and integrate traditional mobility providers into modern ride-hailing platforms. By combining DTC’s large-scale taxi operations with Bolt’s technology and National Taxi’s fleet, the city aims to create a seamless and efficient network that meets the needs of residents, tourists, and commuters alike.
The partnership comes as Dubai continues to prioritise digital innovation and sustainable urban mobility, ensuring that the emirate remains at the forefront of smart transportation solutions in the region.
