The skincare routine is an old age practice. Its concept can be traced back to ancient Egyptian times. They were the first to document such practices, and its origin can be traced back to 3,000 BC. The Egyptians were the first to turn to nature to embellish their beauty with remedies using olive oil, milk, and other essential oils from plants and herbs to be used as moisturizers and treat specific skin ailments. The development of skincare cosmetics started in the early 1900s. Since then, many cosmetic companies have started enhancing beauty products, including Serums, to improve skin condition.

Types of Serums

Serums are skincare products made of highly concentrated active ingredients. There are many variations available in the market. It has different uses that target specific areas of your face depending on what you wish to achieve. So far, six face serums are popularly used among many individuals.

Repair and Restore Face Serums

This type of face serum restores the youthful glow that most individuals yearn for. It is used during the night and empowers the natural renewing process of your skin. It can help to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, thus revealing skin with a younger look. To ensure that your vibrant look is maintained, this gentle product can be used daily.

Exfoliating Face Serums

Just like repair and restore Serums, exfoliating serums also lessen fine lines and wrinkles. It works to ensure that your skin is smooth. It corrects discolouration and even out your tone complexion. This skincare product also corrects hyperpigmentation that is caused by sun damage.

The exfoliating serum also helps remove dead skin cells. As people age, the skin cells produce less collagen and elastin. As a result, it leads to dull and dry skin.

Acne Face Serums

Acne breakouts are one of the many annoying skin problems that any individual face. This type of face serum reactively treats acne. The objective of this skincare product is to prevent further breakouts.

Individuals that are having acne problems should try using acne face serum. It not only prevents acne before they start to break out, but it can also aid in fading acne scars. It helps to eliminate dead skin cells, as well as unclogging dirt from your pores.

Hydrating Face Serum

Hydrating face Serums are perfect for individuals with dehydrated skin.  It provides moisture for your parched skin. However, keep in mind that this skin care product does not replace the daily moisture of your skin. It just helps to amplify the hydrating effects seeping into your pores to increase moisture.

Skin Whitening Serums

Individuals that are exposed in the sun for long periods often results in uneven skin tone. The skin whitening serum works to brighten your skin tone and even out your complexion. Use this product daily and achieve a natural and radiant look.

Anti-Aging Serums

Anti-aging serums are probably one of the popular skincare products that were developed by cosmetic companies. It works by slowing down the typical symptoms of aging.  Upon application to the skin, the product targets saggy skins, wrinkles, and fine lines. It makes your skin fuller and firmer.

As more individuals become conscious of how to properly care for their skin, cosmetic companies are continuously developing skincare products. These products are specifically created to address various skin conditions and skincare maintenance. However, if you have sensitive skin, it is recommended to seek the advice of a dermatologist as they are well-versed in addressing your concern. It is not advisable to keep on trying products as it might give your sensitive skin adverse effects.
