The Emirati field hospital in Gaza has successfully utilized Starlink technology, provided by the UAE seven months ago, to conduct remote consultations on complex medical cases, significantly enhancing patient care in the region. This advanced connectivity has enabled the medical team to collaborate with global experts, offering critical support to Gaza’s healthcare system, which has been severely impacted by ongoing challenges.
The Emirati medical staff at the field hospital have treated numerous patients, with a particular focus on children. They conducted 20 consultative sessions with leading specialists worldwide, discussing 50 cases to develop the most appropriate treatment plans. In some instances, patients were referred to top medical centers in the UAE for further care.
The Starlink service has been instrumental in facilitating the exchange of scientific expertise with doctors from various countries. Through real-time video communication, medical consultations have been provided, helping to save lives and ensure the highest level of care for Palestinian patients and the injured. This initiative is part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to support Gaza’s healthcare sector, which is on the brink of collapse due to the closure of several hospitals and healthcare institutions.
The United Arab Emirates continues to strive to provide all possible medical assistance and modern technologies to Palestinians in Gaza, aiming to address the catastrophic healthcare situation in the region and prevent further deterioration. The implementation of Starlink technology has proven to be a vital tool in these efforts, enabling the delivery of advanced medical care in a region facing significant challenges.
