The cannabis revolution has been taking over the past few years, many countries are now understanding the true nature of cannabis and its types along with its endless benefits. Before the legalization of cannabis in some countries, many other seeds and stems were used from Cannabis sativa to create hemp oil and hemp seeds that were safe to use. Hemp seed oil actually comes from the cannabis plant but has entirely different functions. Hemp oil is created by harvesting hemp seeds from the Cannabis sativa plant, and cold pressing them to create the oil.

Although hemp oil is extracted from the cannabis plant, it has little to zero mind-altering effects. Legally, hemp oil has around 0.3% THC, the psychoactive and intoxicating element in cannabis. So you can safely use hemp oil without getting “high” afterward.

2) Hemp oil is safe and legal to use

Contrary to popular belief, hemp oil is actually FDA approved and legal to use. Because of its little to zero THC effect, hemp oil can be sold freely. Some contain CBD (cannabidiol derived from the industrial hemp) while others don’t. However, always be sure of where you get your hemp oil, and always use a company that is certified and legally sells them. It’s advised to follow up with a healthcare professional on its dosage.

3) Hemp oil is rich with nutrients

Hemp seeds are rich in protein and essential fatty acids like omega 3 and omega 6 that are beneficial to your body. It’s also an insoluble fiber that can help digestion, as well as Vitamin E with antioxidant functions.

4) Hemp oil has many medicinal benefits

Hemp oil actually boasts an array of health benefits. There are studies that show how hemp oil reduces seizures in epilepsy patients, increases metabolism and lowers cholesterol levels and can benefit diabetics by managing their blood sugar levels. It prevents heart diseases, boosts immunity levels and manages high pain levels and nausea. It also reduces strong anxiety attacks by decreasing activity in the part of your brain responsible for the “fight or flight” response and relieves depression.

5) Hemp oil is great for your skin and hair

Hemp oil is actually great for skin and hair. Due to its high fatty acid content, it can act as nature’s moisturizer. It reduces dry skin, eczema and acne. It’s also anti-inflammatory, repairs skin cells and has anti-aging properties. Hemp oil can also be used for hair that is too dry and damaged. It can be used a deep conditioner to add shine and tame your wild hair.
