10 Successful Legendary Personalities and Their Watches

Some timepieces are simply more fashionable than others. These timepieces stand out for a reason, whether they have been solidified on the silver screen, carried by style stars, or just bestowed with a great design. No matter what the reason is, owning a luxury watch means something, especially if you are into a massive success or just a fashionable diva. Many of the items listed below have come to symbolize their particular labels, becoming instantly recognizable and reflecting excellent taste and a respect for the better things in life for individuals who use them.

Legendary Personalities and Their Watches

Here are the most accomplished people and their most recognizable watches. These people have inspired numerous people for their great works in music, films, politics, exploration, business, and religion.

  • Steve McQueen – TAG Heuer Monaco

The TAG Heuer Monaco, another watch popularized by a film star, was sported by Steve McQueen in the seminal movie ‘Le Mans.’ Officially, the watch he donned was a Heuer Monaco, as TAG only purchased the company in 1985, although the design is nearly the same today. When it was first unveiled in 1969, its unique square case and bold sporting appearance were quite astonishing.

  • Orlando Bloom – Rolex Explorer

Orlando Bloom is well-known for his roles in films such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings. Many people are unaware that the actor is an avid watch collector. Orlando has claimed to be a “watch geek,” has amassed a collection of over 40 Rolex designs over the years, with a special interest in rare, older styles. Among his loves is a Rolex Explorer II 1655, well known as the orange-hand “Steve McQueen” Explorer that he notably donned on the magazine cover. In addition, he has a vintage GMT-Master 1675 with a red and blue ‘Pepsi’ bezel. Both watches were taken in an intricate robbery years ago or during the ‘Bling Ring’ incident, but were later recovered.

  • Lady Gaga – Tudor Black Bay

Lady Gaga is well-known as one of the world’s most recognized musicians. However, it wasn’t until her role as ‘Ally’ in A Star Is Born that the world acknowledged her as a remarkable actress. Her performance earned her a Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Actress, as well as nods for an Academy Award, a BAFTA, and a Golden Globe Award. However, a year before all of that, Tudor requested Lady Gaga to be their first-ever female brand ambassador, claiming that she was “born to dare” — much like their famous tagline. The actor and singer can now be seen wearing a Tudor wristwatch, such as the spectacular Tudor Heritage Black Bay with a red bezel.

  • Paul Newman – Rolex Daytona

The Rolex Daytona is undoubtedly the finest of the respected brand’s outstanding timepieces. Influenced by the renowned American race of the same title, the Daytona was released in 1963 and quickly became an international hit, with its attractive yet efficient design being imitated numerous times. It was popularized by actor Paul Newman, who sported one every day from 1972 until he died in 2008. The above watch has a ‘Paul Newman’ dial, which may be distinguished by the Art déco-style squared-end hash marks and number font in the subdials, among other things.

  • Gianni Agnelli – Omega Ploprof Seamaster

According to history, Omega created the PloProf in collaboration with COMEX and Jacques Cousteau to be competitive with the Rolex Sea-Dweller. Gianni Agnelli, a well-known Italian industrialist and playboy, was a major PloProf backer. Agnelli likes to wear his wristwatches on the outside of his shirt sleeve—ostensibly to save time–cherished his Ploprof, a watch that took four years to develop and bring to the marketplace, and which stays an emblem to this day.

  • Buzz Aldrin – Omega Speedmaster Professional

The Speedmaster Professional is noteworthy for being the first watch to land on the moon when it was worn by American former astronaut, engineer, and fighter pilot, Buzz Aldrin, in 1969. It will always be associated with this monumental feat, but its steampunk aesthetic and excellent proportions have meant that time has treated it well, and it is today a favorite among enthusiasts and casual watch aficionados alike.

  • John F Kennedy – Cartier Tank

The Cartier Tank, one of the most renowned dress watches of all time, is more than deserving of a spot on this listing. The initial design was influenced by Renault Tanks that Louis Cartier saw on the Western Front during WWI, and the first model was produced in 1917. Many allusions have subsequently surfaced, but the ‘Louis Cartier,’ with its brown alligator strap and 18k gold case, is a striking pairing sported by John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States.

  • Elvis Presley – Omega Constellation

During Elvis Presley’s time in the army, the King has worn an Omega. The watch, which had a Caliber 504 manual winding chronometer movement and was displayed in a pink gold-capped stainless steel case, was as flamboyant as the performer himself. This classic watch features a decagonal crown and a stainless steel casebook, and the gold hour indices with illuminating inlays guaranteed that Elvis retained his dazzling character even when restricted to military garb.

  • Martin Luther King Jr. – Rolex Datejust

Rolex considers King to be one of their biggest “heroes” in their existence. Martin Luther King, Jr., the iconic civil rights campaigner, sported a Rolex Datejust, just like Churchill. The King’s yellow gold model, on the other hand, was paired with a Jubilee bracelet, one of three bracelets available from the brand, along with the President and the Oyster, and a supple five-piece link bracelet with an attractive hidden clasp.

  • ‘James Bond’ – Omega Seamaster

Omega’s Seamaster was released in 1948, putting it on one of the first dive timepieces before the mid-‘50s worldwide fame. It is generally only rivaled by the Rolex Submariner, yet Omega’s long-standing affiliation with the James Bond series ensures that it has overcome its foe in the marketing sweepstakes. He may not be genuine, but he ranks alongside the world’s most renowned men.

In A Nutshell

Seeing folks in extravagant outfits is both commendable and envious. However, if you look deeper into their story and discover how they came to be in that position where they can have whatever they want, you will be inspired and encouraged. Luxury timepieces are more than just an accessory; they are also a status symbol, which is a remarkable thing for many people.
