Coronavirus cases are once again rising in European countries, authorities to re-impose sanctions and close restaurants, nightclubs and other public places. Masks have also been made mandatory in many countries. Due to the new restrictions, measures are also being taken in many European countries to curb the rush to tourist destinations during the summer holidays.
The resurgence of the virus is alarming in European countries, with a total of more than 140,000 deaths so far in Britain, France, Italy and Spain. The toughest sanctions have been imposed in Spain, where 50,000 new cases have been reported in the last 14 days. The virus is also gaining momentum in Italy, with new restrictions being imposed on the country. Any kind of fireworks or gathering of people on the beach is prohibited. Meanwhile, French officials have said that the country is facing a second wave of the virus, in view of which Paris has been declared a ‘risk zone’. The British government has announced that people coming from France will now have to stay in quarantine for 14 days. Officials say France has seen a 60 percent increase in cases over the past week.
