Dubai, UAE, Tuesday 11th August: Raindance Film School London is pleased to announce the official opening of its new Dubai campus this August. Launching with Higher education courses in Filmmaking and Screen acting, along with a series of hands-on short courses in screenwriting, directing, producing and post-production, Raindance Film School Dubai will be the institute’s first campus outside of London, and the first purpose-built film school in the Emirate that offers training and qualifications in filmmaking, post-production/visual effects and the performing arts.
Raindance Film School Dubai will offer the same HE provision as its London-based headquarters, where students will be able to take part in flexible and custom-designed courses offering undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications. The curriculum will provide industry-led education to the region through courses that focus on experience-based learning, equipping students with the skills necessary for the professional filmmaking environment. Students will also have the opportunity to collaborate on projects with their peers at the London campus.
Amani Choudhry, CEO of Raindance Film School Dubai says “We’re excited to welcome applications from students in the region looking for the opportunity to gain higher education in filmmaking and screen acting, previously unavailable at this scale. The Middle East has some of the brightest emerging talent in film and performing arts, and our role will be to provide the skills and experience needed to break into and become leaders in the industry.”
Raindance has pioneered film training courses and delivered one of the most successful independent film festivals in Europe since 1992. Based in the West End of London, Raindance offers short courses in every aspect of filmmaking and performing arts, as well as academic degrees up to postgraduate level. Raindance has helped launch the careers of some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Christopher Nolan, Edgar Wright, and Guy Ritchie to name a few. Raindance operates hubs in all the major cities around the world, and for the first time, they are launching a new flagship film school in Dubai.
Based in Jumeirah 1, Raindance Film School’s central location offers students the opportunity for fantastic filming locations available on their doorstep. The school is located within a short distance from beachfront settings and has stunning views of the iconic Dubai skyline from the rooftop terrace. Students also have access to studio-grade production facilities and free use of all necessary equipment for shooting their projects. Students also gain membership to Raindance’s global network of film hubs and will have the opportunity to see their final projects screened at the HND Showcase during the Raindance Film Festival in London. Students can also submit their projects for consideration to the Academy Award, BAFTA & BIFA qualifying Raindance Film Festival itself.
Short courses beginning this month include Screenwriting Foundation Certificate, Script Supervising and Continuity for Film and Television, The Art of Film: An Introductory Course and Low Budget Filmmaking. HND courses in both Film and Screen Acting begin in October.
