Lahore, Pakistan: Scientometrics Lab (SLAB) of Information Technology University (ITU) released quality research base rankings of Pakistani Higher Education Institutes(HEIs).
According to the rankings, Quaid-e-Azam University situated in capital Islamabad topped the overall ranking followed by COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, University of Agriculture (UAG) Faisalabad, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), University of the Punjab, Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), University of Karachi, University of Engineering and Technology (UET), and Government College University (GCU).
In specialised HEI’s of Pakistan. Agha Khan University topped the category followed by Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), National Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Pakistan, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI), NED University of Engineering and Technology Pakistan, University of Sindh, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Taxila, NWFP Agricultural University, and University of Arid Agriculture.
ITU Vice Chancellor Dr Umar Saif said, ” ITU quality research rankings is distinctive because it only aggregates work published in top research journals and conferences.”
“We are delighted to share Pakistan’s first research ranking of universities and institutions with very interesting and insightful data showing where we stand in quality research,” he added.
According to Scientometrics Lab (SLAB), “ITU Research Rankings will work toward broader measures for research benchmarking, including detailed funding information, commercialization, and societal impact.”
