A UNESCO official says there are more than 1.5 billion students in schools and universities around the world, including about 740 million girls. Of these, more than 110 million girls are from underdeveloped countries where going to school for girls is a big problem. The girls will suffer the most are refugees living in camps and their schools are also inside the camps. Now sending them back to school can be more difficult and the achievements that have been made over the past 20 years in educating girls globally could be detrimental.

COVID19 Lockdown

Although the closure of educational institutions due to the coronavirus is temporary, the reduction in the duration of teaching has an impact on academic achievement. When schools close, academic performance is affected. The closure of schools also raises a number of other issues, most notably a decline in economic output.
