Salik Company, Dubai’s exclusive toll gate operator, has entered a strategic partnership with ENOC Group to roll out integrated digital payment solutions at ENOC fuel stations, marking a significant move in the city’s ongoing digital transformation in mobility and retail services.
Under a newly signed memorandum of understanding (MoU), the two entities will collaborate to enable contactless fuel payments through Salik’s e-wallet, utilizing automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology. This system will allow customers to pay for fuel and services without physical interaction, with charges automatically deducted from their Salik accounts based on vehicle number plates.
The agreement was formalized at ENOC’s headquarters in Dubai, with Salik CEO Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad and ENOC Retail Managing Director Zaid Alqufaidi signing on behalf of their respective organizations.
“This partnership reinforces our commitment to delivering advanced technologies that simplify transactions, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen Salik’s position as a key enabler of sustainable and intelligent mobility solutions across Dubai,” said Al Haddad.
The ANPR technology involved is not new to Salik, which already deploys it at over 25 parking locations across the emirate. The system is expected to expand to 127 locations in the coming months, underscoring Salik’s broader strategy to grow its ancillary revenue streams and diversify its role in the smart mobility sector.
ENOC Group, for its part, sees the collaboration as a move to enhance the customer journey. “This agreement represents a significant step towards enhancing the customer journey at our service stations,” said Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC. “We are committed to embracing innovation that delivers greater convenience and efficiency.”
The MoU outlines a phased rollout of the payment system across ENOC service stations, along with plans for joint technical integration and marketing campaigns to drive customer engagement and awareness. Discussions are also underway for a broader strategic alliance between the two companies.
The announcement comes as Salik continues to expand its suite of customer-focused services, including the recent introduction of a variable tolling system designed to ease traffic congestion and optimize infrastructure usage in Dubai.
Both companies reaffirmed that this partnership is a step toward a smarter, more connected mobility future in the UAE.
